Jon Bayley is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer with a knack for telling both his and other people’s stories. His “confident and crooning” (Julian Loida, Ryder Magazine) tenor, thoughtful lyrics, and tasteful acoustic guitar playing garnered the Wisconsin native a first place win in the 2012 singer-songwriter contest B-Town’s Best,  giving him the chance to work with acclaimed producer Paul Mahern (The Fray, Lily and Madeline) on his debut EP, Lonely Dove. His second release, Time (July, 2016), showcases his strengths as a singer and writer in a style that inflects the alternative and indie music of his upbringing with the sounds of the city he now calls home.

Jon has been making music for as long as he can remember. From trumpet and piano lessons starting at a young age to a win at the Wisconsin state high school battle of the bands, his future in music was always obvious. College brought the opportunity to sharpen his musical skills and to tour the country as musical director for Indiana University’s award-winning male a cappella group, Another Round. Upon graduating, he picked up and moved to Nashville in order to make his lifelong passion his career.

On Time, Jon is backed up by the Jon Bayley Band, a trio of old friends (Nick Allen, Ilan Blanck, and Luke Rivard)  who also happen to be some of Wisconsin’s best and busiest young musicians, comfortable performing everything from Bach to bluegrass. Formed over long distance, the band spent several months working together over Skype and e-mail before driving through the night to meet Jon in Nashville for a weekend-long recording session at Nashville’s The Record Shop.
